Then I decided to look into lighting and I found soft lighting which when outside is created by the sun being behind clouds this creates a look a bit like the above image, to create the same look in a studio you would need to put a soft box over one of the lights to get a softer edge and look to the photo or film. Hard lighting is when the lighting is very direct like if you were to be outside and it was a clear day and the sun was directly above you that would create hard lighting because it would be very shadowy and bright which i think we intend to use more than the soft lighting. The below image is an example of hard lighting where a lot of shadows are shown and the model appears to be completely lit up this would represent a very sexy intimate mood when used in a studio but outside would create a bright well detailed vibe.

techniques and lighting

Poster and digipack review
After speaking with students and teachers, we decided to remove the title from behind the head and place it smaller in front, as it was for a magazine we didn't want it to look like a front cover, we also decided to make the text smaller and include a picture of the album to build up a star image and show the album so it became recognisable. I'm pleased with this and I know that after following advice from my peers and teachers that it turned out looking a lot more professional than the previous poster.

Digipack
Again following feedback we made a few changes. The photographs we took were all from the same photo shoot which we were then advised to change because it looked amateur and non professional, which i completely agree with now, since we done 4 photo
shoots we chose 3 different pictures and placed them onto our digipack which shows that we have completed a number of shoots and put effort into our digipack.

POSTER
Poster, this is the poster we created on photoshop to promote our album and our artist, i thought it was important to include the social networking sites and where it can be downloaded from as these are the most important for our young audience as this is where they mostly spend their time and money. I done this in the style of a magazine because i thought it would look a bit different and add a new modern style to the poster. Again i stuck with the same font to continue building on the star image and used an image which reflected the album cover.
DIGIPACK
This is our flat pack digipack, I really like this as I think it creates a star image and builds up the right kind of look for the audience we are aiming it at. The font adds a really nice touch as it creates a fun element, I chose to tie the colours in with the colours on her dress and the background to keep it looking professional. I added in quotes from newspapers and music websites to make the digipack seem more realistic. Also i added the copy right law on the back as during my research i noticed most digipacks have some sort of copy right agreement. Overall i am really pleased with the final outcome.
Photoshoot for the Digipack
These are all images which we took to create our digipack i am very pleased with the outcome , after the images were taken we decided to re-work them on photoshop to give them a hazey feel so we added a few filters to create a warm effect, i think this will appeal to our target audience of 15-25 as the images have a vintage feel which is very much in fashion right now but also they link in with a country vibe which will help us to build a star image for our artist.
Target audience:
Our target audience is mainly from 15-25, the younger generation who are more likely to listen to pop music as we are intending to create a more of a pop video with a slight country take. An audience who enjoy mainstream music videos as we are not going for a niche audience as we believe most people in this age group will enjoy a pop video more than any other type of video.
Theme and setting:
as previously stated we are going for a mainstream theme, with a utopia idea surrounding it like a lot of current music videos show. Maybe in a setting a bit like this with fields of green and a blue sky. to give it a kind of country vibe. We want everything to be quite bright so we everything will need to be 3 -way-colour corrected to create a bright vibe.
We plan to use : Fields near the orwell bridge, woods in chantry park and a big open nature reserve in pinewood.

Narrative:
We plan on having a narrative based video with some concept elements to add something thought provoking and exciting. The narrative will be linear, we want it to flow and tell the story.
the narrative is the story of whether a female should trust the male because of past experiences.
Costume:
We want to use a lot of dresses and dramatic clothing to create the dramatic feel most music videos have in mainstream, I think long dresses will fit our style as it's in the country side i was thinking maxi dresses and headbands kind of like a hippy style.

These sort of headbands will make the audience think of summer and as we are shooting part of it in a field in a maxi dress hopefully they will get the summer vibe.
We will do filming on a bright day then we intend to create a hazy look using filters on photoshop like the previous photo of the girl in the headband to create a summer look.
